    First Meeting

    Milton's Story

People always ask us how we met, and the story comes with a friendly debate that I don't think will ever end.

My brother will gladly tell anyone who listens that he deserves all the credit. According to him, he introduced us at a crusade and had already received a vision that she would become my wife. To be fair, he had been fellowshipping with her and her family long before I ever met them, so he definitely had an advantage.

But here's my side of the story...

Before any introductions happened, while we were sitting in the crusade service, I noticed this incredibly calm, graceful, and beautiful young woman. There was something so peaceful about her that I couldn't stop looking in her direction. In that very moment, I felt deep in my heart and had a vision that she was going to be my wife.

Little did I know, my brother was somewhere smiling to himself, probably thinking, "Just wait... I already know what's about to happen."

As soon as the service ended, he walked me over and officially introduced us. I acted cool on the outside, but inside I was thinking, "Well... this is the woman I just saw in my vision!"

    So who gets the credit?

My brother insists it was all him. I say God had already introduced us before he ever did. He was simply the messenger who arrived right on time.

And honestly, I'm grateful for both. Because that simple introduction led me to the greatest blessing of my life, my beautiful wife. Every day since then has been another reminder that God's timing is perfect, His plans are always better than ours, and sometimes the best love stories begin with a vision, a crusade, and a brother who will never let you forget that he "introduced" you.

Now, that's my version of the story.

Of course, I have a feeling my wife remembers it a little differently, and I'm sure she has her own side of the story. So, rather than me trying to tell it for her, I'll let her share her version below. Let's see if our stories match... or if she's about to expose a few details I conveniently left out! ❤️

    Patience's Story

So, here's my version of the story...

Last year, in June, we traveled to Dallas, Texas, for a three-day crusade. On the third and final day, I noticed this cute guy who was asked to walk to the front row of the church and take a seat. He happened to be sitting directly across from me, but at the time, I didn't think much of it. I was focused on the service and helping wherever I was needed.

Later during the service, as people came forward to be prayed for, the microphone was passed to me. When it was his turn, I was the one holding the microphone for him. Looking back now, it's funny how God was already bringing our paths together in little ways before either of us realized it.

After the service, his brother called me over and introduced us. "This is my brother," he said. I smiled, said, "Nice to meet you," and went on my way. That was it... or so I thought!

That evening, my friends started teasing me, saying they noticed something while I was standing beside him holding the microphone as he was being prayed for. I laughed it off because I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about... or maybe I did.

The next day, we were at his brother's house, where my friend and I were having a conversation. Apparently, he was nearby the whole time, quietly listening and smiling. I hadn't even noticed until my friend whispered, "That guy has been looking at you this entire time!" I looked over, thought, "Huh?" and before long, he joined the conversation by asking a question. I answered, and we all carried on as if nothing had happened.

Later that day, one of the hosts organized a barbecue and invited everyone over. He came by for a little while, and once again our paths crossed. Meanwhile, one of the hosts wasn't making things any easier. They kept teasing me, asking if I hadn't seen any handsome men in Texas!

The following day, before we headed back home, we stopped by his house to pray. As we were about to leave, he walked over to the car and asked for my phone number. His reason? He said he needed it to book appointments because I was assisting the woman of God. It sounded perfectly reasonable... or so I believed. I happily gave him my number.

The very next day, June 24th, he sent me a message asking if we had made it home safely. Then he jokingly admitted that he planned to keep calling and texting me to "book multiple appointments" and that he wasn't going to feel bad about it. Looking back now, I think those appointments had very little to do with ministry and everything to do with getting to know me!

From that day on, we talked constantly and got to know each other better. Then, on August 29th, he flew to Virginia to visit me for the very first time. We went on our first date at Topgolf, followed by dinner, and before he left, he looked at me with complete confidence and said, "I love you, and I'm going to marry you." I don't think either of us knew just how quickly God was writing our love story.

The months that followed were filled with visits, laughter, prayers, long conversations, and beautiful memories together. Then came the weekend of April 24th, 2026. We were in Washington, D.C., spending time together before his sister's traditional wedding. We enjoyed a lovely evening together, and by the end of it, the man who had once asked for my number to "book appointments" was down on one knee asking me to spend forever with him.

    Of course, I said yes.

And now, here we are, counting down the days until I get to marry my best friend, my answered prayer, and the man God had in mind for me all along. Looking back, it's amazing how a simple introduction at a crusade became the beginning of our forever.
